NOTE: Sann's column "It Happened All Over..." debuted in The Post's Week-End Magazine in 1954. It documented what he liked to call The War Between Men & Women* and looked at social, political and cultural landscapes with humor and folly. It was spiced with Sann's final commentary -- observed one-liners in italics. Soon, occasional snapshots about his wife and their lives started showing up in it. And, over the entire course of the 13 years he would write the column, he would never once refer to Birdye by her name. The slices of life that follow were a favorite of readers.

    * THE WAR BETWEEN MEN & WOMEN--Rose Saye, 36, told a Chicago judge that her ex-husband phoned 67 times one day to take her back.
She told him no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no no and would the court please tell the guy to stop calling.
    The judge said yes.

CALLING ALL MARRIED MEN--Repeat after us:
I must not go to office parties.
I must not go to office parties.
I must not go to office parties.
I must not go to office parties.
I must not go to office parties.
Now say it 995 more times and promise you'll go straight home after the party next Christmas, and please God, maybe everything will be alright.
