                Sann, reflecting back to that time in the 1930s when he covered housing:


                              15, Nov.
WARREN: Like I once broke a story, maps and all, about the city setting up a sweetheart deal (all kinds of tax exemption and other things) with Met Life to tear down the slums and build new housing on the East Side (later Stuyvesant Town and Peter Cooper Village). So Mr. LaGuardia called J. David Stern and said fire the bum, he queered the deal (land acquisition). So Mr. Stern called Walter B. Lister, City Editor, and said how about that housing story, true? So Mr. Lister called me and I said, Walter, it's a handout for the Sunday Times Real Estate that came into my possession. So he told Mr. Stern, and Mr. Stern said swell, has Paul got a follow on it for tomorrow?
